Available as a coupe and convertible, production of the 356 began in 1948 and concluded in 1965. Significant races in which the 356 has competed include France's 24 Hours of Le Mans, Mexico's La Carrera Panamericana, and Italy's Mille Miglia and Targa Florio. Depending upon the year and body style, the 356 was built with a single cooling grille or twin cooling grilles on the rear engine cover. The design above depicts the single grille.
